Google Calendar Sync

Introduction

In this guide we will show you how to setup Google Calendar sync step by step. We apologize for the number of steps involved however this is something out of our control as Google has strict security measures and so these are the same hoops everyone must jump through in order to setup Google Calendar. It will however only take about 5 or 10 minutes to complete and once it’s done however, re-syncing with your calendar is as simple as clicking a button.

Estimated Duration: 10 Minutes

Step 1

1)  Navigate to the Google Developers Console. (https://console.developers.google.com/)

Step 2

2)  From the top Project menu select Create project.

Step 3

3) Create new project.

Step 4

4) Select your created project from drop down

Step 5

5) From the Google Developers Console Dashboard select “ENABLE APIS AND SERVICE”.

Step 6

6) Type “Calendar API” in search box and press enter.

Step 7

7) Select “Google Calendar API” and enable it.

Step 8

8) Before you can create an API key under the Credentials tab, you will need to configure your oAuth consent screen:

Set User Type to External and click Create.

Step 9

9) Enter an App name (not important), User support Email, and Developer Support Email, then click Save and Continue.

Step 10

10) Add your email in test users section.

Step 11

11) Click to Credentials.

Step 12

12) Click to “Create credentials” and choose “OAuth client ID”.

Step 13

13) Select application type “Web application”.

Step 14

14) Add ” Authorized redirect URIs” which name should be like this

https://{your website}/google_calendar_sync.php. for example https://dsdj.eventmasterpro.com/google_calendar_sync.php

And then click to Create button

Step 15

15) then you will get Client id and Client Secret which need to add in google calendar settings in the app.

Step 16

16) Paste the details into the app EMP app settings and then click to connect and provide google access to app.

That's all!

Hopefully that wasn’t too complicated. Now you can sync your events from 2 places. One is directly from the EMP Calendar on the dashboard or at the calendar menu options itself. The other is individually at an event.

The Google Calendar icon will automatically show when it becomes out of date from the Google Calendar version. Once any tentative/booked or done event has been modified, the icon will show.

Please Enjoy!
